Here we go again.. Trying to figure out the secrets behind this mysterious poem.. Well, I must admit, this is such a work of art! A true Masterpiece!

The Look

Strephon kissed me in the spring,

Robin in the fall,

But Colin only looked at me

And never kissed at all.

Strephon's kiss was lost in jest,

Robin's lost in play,

But the kiss in Colin's eyes

Haunts me night and day.

uhmm.. One question?? If I kissed her, would she remember it?? ahahah.. I'm sure she will!! That's a once in a lifetime opportunity!..

The poem mentions three guys..

1.) Strephon

2.) Robin

3.) Colin

What do these guys have to do with this girl?? hahays.. If only these guys were not in the scene I won't have to do this required blog entry!!.. Anyways, I don't have a choice because there included..

Strephon and Robin, in my own analysis, are like suitors to the girl.. It is stated Strephon kissed her during the spring and robin during the fall.. It shows that the two guys loved the girl and they have showed their affection. The two different seasons were used to emphasize the different time intervals. The two guys admired the girl but then, according to my own interpretation, the girl didn't give the same affection towards the two guys..

It was evident in the poem that the girl forgot the kisses from Robin and Strephon.. Maybe this was because the kiss was insignificant for her.. There kisses were not to die for.. aheheh.. Either they were lame kissers or their kisses did not mean anything to her..

But that look! The plain, look was all that she can bare!.. It haunts her every night.. What was with that look?? Muta?? ahaha.. If I'm right Colin was the only man she ever loved.. The other boys gave her a kiss but she has forgotten about it. The stare from Colin meant a lot! He loved Colin but I think Colin did not like her.. Maybe because he doesn't like her at all or maybe because something is holding his love for her.. The stare maybe has some meaning in it.. A hidden mystery yet to be uncovered and that was what haunts the girl until now..

That look could only mean two things..

Either he likes her, or not!!

Uhhmm.. How do I start?? First let me congratulate Mr. Edward Estlin Cummings for his job well done.. God, he has a very EXTRAORDINARY mind!! Wow!! Congratulations Mr. E.E. Cummings for making it to the Guiness Book of World Records Most Complicated Poem Ever!!

ahaha.. Just kidding.. hahayz.. Okay, let me just tell all of you what this bunch of letters mean to me..

According to my puny, little brain, The arrangement of letters mean a lot. If you read this poem in one line it goes like this "l(a leaf falls)oneliness".. As i what i have learned in math(with the help of my ever dearest Calculus teacher Mr. Roberto Basadre) we should follow the P.M.D.A.S.(Parenthesis. Multiplication. Division. Addition.Subtraction rule.. So if we follow the P.M.D.A.S., we start with the parenthesis.. (a leaf falls).. If you remember what happens during fall, leaves fall(redundant keu oi!! ahahah).. If a leaf fall, it seperates from it's tree.. If we are to compare it to humans, It's like seperating from your family! It's pure, plain loneliness!!

This brings us to our second word.. LONELINESS.. If we will delete the phrase inside the parenthesis(a leaf falls).. We will have Loneliness.. As what I have said earlier, the falling leaf relates to loneliness which makes perfect sense.. I think this what the author wants to deliver.. LONELINESS..

Sir Elmer told us to make emphasis in the use of font styles .. As you can see above, small letter L looks more like number 1.. If you analyze it critically, one is associated with loneliness. Why? Simply because number always mean being alone.. One.. If you try to sum them all up.. One message is conveyed.. LONELINESS!!.. But why is there loneliness??

Did you notice how the word Loneliness was wisely divided?? Small letter L(more like number1) is separated from the word oneliness.. Oneliness literally means unity.. State of being one.. Can you relate now how the word was cleverly divided?.. One letter separates unity and loneliness.. Small letter L which in this poem stands for number 1. tsk3x.. Get the picture??

If you might remember, number 1 also mean another thing. Being at the Top!! Being the best!! If you try adding number 1(small letter L) to the word oneliness. It forms loneliness. The author wanted to point out that his being the best was what lead him to his sadness..

Lets get back with the phrase "a leaf falls".. This phrase mean that the leaf has separated from the tree.. If we try to connect it with the above discussions, his being the best was what seperated him from the rest..

If my analysis was correct, the message of the poem would be "Success is sometimes dangerous!" Either your head has grown or others have envied you.."

EASY...DIFFICULT…

CEBU COUNTRY CLUB

The gift of sight. This gift enables us to appreciate the beauty of nature inside and out.. There is much to see if you'll just close your eyes.. Beauty surpasses what the eyes can see.. Blind people are the one's who can really tell us the meaning of sight.. Although they can't see through the eyes but they can see through the heart..

The gift of hearing.. Hearing is a very potent tool for communication.. It uses sounds to transmit meaning.. These sounds are then transmitted to the brain for decoding.. A very complicated thing but then God gave us this gift for us to understand the beauty of life.. It's not hearing that is important.. It's understanding what your hearing..

The gift to touch.. Touching is a privilege.. It's a way for us to express what we feel.. We slap, caress we hold.. It's a gift and a responsibility..

It's actually the stirring that you do after adding the sugar
that makes the coffee sweet! hahah

Just like in "LIFE"!
It's making do with what you have that makes your life worthwhile.

Life is simply like coffee. It can sometimes be sweet but oftentimes bitter. We can face problems and obstacles we think we can't solve. This makes our life bitter but experiencing this bitter times make you crave for sweetness more. When you think you can't stand the bitterness anymore, don't think it's the end! You should know that God will always make a way.. We all know that God doesn't want us to live a bitter life. He always provides with sugar. But sugar alone can't make the coffee sweet! It needs stirring. It's up to us to stir it.
We need to make use of what God has given us. God's graces are practically useless if there is no factor of effort added.
This explains the ever famous tagalog quote "Nasa Diyos ang awa, nasa Tao ang gawa!".
We can't expect God to do all the things! We can't expect him to do the stirring. It's our responsibility. We need to do our part.
When you're in trouble always remember that God will always provide sugar. Don't even think of throwing the coffee mug away because doing that means you have surrendered! Running away from your problems doesn't solve it!! It just makes it worse.



So, if ever you drink another cup of aromatic, sweet coffee..
Always remember what makes it sweet!!!

2.) The world doesn't need his extraordinary sense of hearing!! We now have cellular phones. Portable and economical! eheheh.. It looks a lot more cooler than Superman's earwax!! ahaha Especially the latest Motorola V3 RazR!! Its to die for.. ehehe.. Why should we need his ears if we can contact people in a click of a finger?? ehehe
3.) The world doesn't need his X-ray vision! We have X-ray machines!! Available to a hospital near you! Call now and you can avail of the latest X-ray machine. Just dial 810-2345. Right now! ehehe.. Just kidding!! Senxai ang way lingaw..

Enough na lageh sa CORNY STUFFS!! Let's get serious!

1.) The world doesn't need Superhuman strength. We don't need someone who could easily lift up Lady Liberty and deploy it here in the Philippines!! All we need is unity. Why?? Because there is strength in Unity. With unity we can do almost anything impossible. All we have to do is to cooperate.
2.) We don't need his superpowers to have a better life!! All we have to do is to trust and believe in God! He is more than superman, batman, the flash all in one. He's the greatest superhero ever exists! He can hear anything even words not spoken! He can see right through walls even the walls of the heart! He can be so strong! Strong enough to lift the world over the palm of his hand. He can be faster than a speeding bullet; even faster than the speed of light! He can use laser vision even without dilating his pupils. He can blow things up with just his pinky finger. Kryptonite can't even scratch Him! His invulnerable and ever immortal.

He can do all things Superman can do amplified a thousand times without having to wear the "brief outside" trademark look!
